Magistrate John Fornah of the Ross Road Magistrate Court No.2 in the East End of Freetown, has on Friday 30TH June 2017 ordered that the accused person, Ibrahim Dixon Kargbo pay a fine of two million Leones (Le 2,000,000) to the state or go to jail for two (2) years at the Male Correctional Center in Freetown.

The complainant in the matter, Mohamed Sallu Jalloh told the court that he is no longer interested in the matter and wish to withdraw the matter in which the accused person allegedly defraud him two thousand United States dollars ($2,000) that is equivalent to  fourteen million Leones.

Mohamed Sallu Jalloh pleaded to the court that the mother of the accused person has begged him to withdraw the case out of court. The complainant went on to say that the mother of the accused person has already started paying the sum of two million Leones (Le 2,000,000) and she has promised to pay the balance in a two-month period.

The complainant disclosed to the court that he has accepted to the wishes of the accused personís mother to settle the matter with them out of the court.

Magistrate John Fornah however said that whether the complainant wants to settle the matter or not, it is not the business of the court.

He added that nothing on that will stop the court from taking action on the accused person and he therefore sentence the accused person to two-year imprisonment or he pays a fine of two million Leones to the state.

The matter was adjourned to a later date.
