The High Court of Sierra Leone Holden at Makeni presided over by the Honorable Justice Abdul Rahman Mansaray, on 10th July 2017, convicted Ibrahim Suma on two count charges of impersonation of an Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) officer contrary to section 76 of the Anti-Corruption Act 2008.
He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to custodial jail term of 12 months on each of the two count, to run concurrently including the time spent on remand.
It could be recalled that Ibrahim Suma on 2nd June 2017 in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone impersonated an officer of the Anti-Corruption Commission to wit the convict held himself as an ACC staff to Idrissa Tarawally of the Sierra Leone Police, Fasineh Samura of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority and Wisan Shaban a Lebanese Businessman.
It should be noted that, the Commission had issued several Public Notices warning persons to desist from the ill-practice of impersonating an ACC officer, and also encouraged members of the public to assist the Commission in prosecuting these criminals.
