Maternally based abusive invectives known in the local parlance as MAMMY CUSS, seem to have taken over the news reports in coverage of the ongoing matter of The State versus Kamarainba. The reports were such that the State Counsel assigned to prosecute the matter has had to come out in strong defence of herself over claims that she abused the lawyer of Kamarainaba so badly that she also abused his mother.
In a swift rebuttal to such reports, the female lawyer, explained her own side as well.

RESPONSE TO EMMANUEL SAFFA’S UNFOUNDED ALLEGATIONS
Those who know me well will definitely not believe that I will do such a thing. I never abused his mother. The journalists in court are one sided that’s all. What about when he told me that as a fifty year old I don’t know how to behave and that I am unbrought up? On three occassions he reffered to my witness as a thug sent by the APC to attack his client. I objected to that and I said as far as I was concerned he was just prevaricating. The journalists I believe must be hearing that word for the first time so they interpreted it as an abuse. Learned colleagues this is just a ploy to tarnish my good image by Saffa Abdulai and his journalists. I repeat I never abused his mother. I told him that the way he has been abusing me in court l suppose that’s the way he talks to his mother. So did l abuse his mother? No. If you tell me that I say I am fifty and I can’t comport myself and can’t behave well and that I am unbrought up, that was when I said, oh yes because that’s the way you talk to your mother.
Courtesy, our African and Sierra Leonean values and our esteemed profession demands we address each other especially the elderly with uttermost respect. I believe my track record and for everyone that has crossed my path in this life can testify to my character and highest regard for our values. The legacy we leave behind for the generations after us must be paramount.
I will not stoop low to borrow zero values I don’t possess and will not deter from reproving unprofessionalism and utter disrepect for what the true African heritage upholds. Our reputations, character and the values we uphold will speak volumes beyond my response. I choose to focus on influencing positive and progressive values in my country and the rest of Africa with every bit of me than engage in any futher degrading banter.
Umu Sumaray Esq
ALLEGATION THAT LAWYER UMU SUMARAY ABUSES EMMANUEL SAFFA ABDULAI’S MOTHER IN COURT
Dear Umu Sumaray Esq,
Madam state counsel the legal profession is an enviable one which has in the past years faced serious challenges in trial and dispensing fair justice.
I have withness the court proceedings at the Segbwema magistrate court and u have a record of disrespecting your colleagues and what you have so far exhibited is far from the African values u claimed to uphold in your response piece to lawyer Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Esq.
Undertones are part of legal arguments but several times u have totally gone beyond the normal practice and behaved unprofessionally even as u lead your prosecution withness es as if u have been programed to twist the proceedings .
My lady you are a woman and as such should be very much respectful irrespective of the circumstances now. Iam not a journalist but I believe if the word u used is not clear to them the use of internet has help to define the word you used in court today.
Those journalists in that court room cannot be against you, I even know of two APC journalist who have been monitoring the court proceedings from day one to now and also SLPP journalists so to say the journalist are one sided further exposes your total disrespect for another profession which you have no idea of their codes and conducts.we are monitoring the situation and we expect you to be respectful tomorrow and try to lead your witnesses the proper way as the law demands, we know the matter before the court has to do with a political leader and his opponents will go at any lent to nail him, we have already withness in our generation bad precedents in this current legal system and we would not want to see a continuation .
Thanks in advance
