Goapele:  For a singer whose name means " to move forward "  in Sitswana,  a South African language,  and  grew up in the Bay area with South African roots,  and was inspired by a tradition of soulful  singers like Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Bob Marley,  and Miriam Makeba, people who created timeless music and positive change  in the world.  I am also part of the hip-hop generation  and my influences continue to grow, so my music has become a blend of so many musical traditions . Critics from Rolling Stones , Billboard, Essence, Vibe  and a host of others hailed the songstress as an emerging artist to watch and her album  " even closer"  was ahead of  her time. The inspiring title track  " closer " notched  #1` on radio in play lists from San Fransisco, to LA to DC to Baton Rouge.

Daddy Saj:  He is Sierra Leone's top rapper and toast  master who's first album "corruption  e do so " meaning in krio .........enough is enough  struck a chord not only in Sierra Leone  but across Africa reports the BBC.

Mahala:  Mahala is a real Afro-centric band  headed by former lead  guitarist of Lucky Dube's original band that  plays Township music which falls into world music category.
