Ruling APC MP Undertakes Local Road Construction Project in Freetown

All Peopleís Congress (APC) Member of Parliament (MP) representing Constituency 105 has commenced a community road construction project in the eastern part of the Freetown city.
This disclosure was made to the Awareness Times Newspaper on Thursday 18th February 2010 by Honourable Nuru Deen Sankoh Yillah.
According to the APC MP, he decided to undertake the said project in order to make his Constituency accessible by vehicles and people.
"I have severally submitted proposals to the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) and National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) for the rehabilitation of various roads in my Constituency but no responses" he explained, adding that he is undertaking the project with money accumulated in his saved monthly salary.
According to him, the pilot project commences at Grant Street, Off Mountain Cut in Freetown and will continue to other areas of the Constituency. "The Grant Street project will cost me not less than Le6,000,000 (Six Million Leones)" he explained, whilst adding that he has the support of youth organizations in the community that have displayed determine to work for development in their respective areas.
He used the forum as an opportunity to express appreciation to community based organizations including Jambo Graduation, Luma Organization, German Base, Ruff Riders and host of other social clubs in the areas who are working voluntarily to ensure that the road project become a success.
Hon. Nuru Deen said the project is the latest among the numerous projects he had undertaken since he was elected.
He concluded by assuring the youth and elders of his continued support towards improving the Constituency.
