Judiciary apologises to Afsatu Kabba
Mar 19, 2010, 17:24
Information reaching this press yesterday Thursday March 18th¬†2010 is that the Judiciary has offered an apology to the erstwhile Minister of Fisheries Haja Afsatu Kabba for mistakenly citing her for failing to appear in Court on Wednesday March 17th¬†2010. It will be recalled that Masterís Office had asked lawyers for Haja Afsatu Kabba to bring her to court Wednesday to report when no such order existed. Justice Browne Marke had actually instructed that Haja Kabba should report to the Court every Monday even though her passport had been seized and she had a house-owner surety. However, for some strange reason yet to be fathomed, the Judiciary had further misinformed itself that the embattled female politician was to report three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and had proceeded to make moves past Wednesday that resulted in an unfortunate intimidation of the popular politician. Haja Afsatu was unavailable for comments but a source confirmed she accepted Judiciaryís apology in good faith.
The inexplicable Judicial error was however received with some trepidation by supporters of Haja Afsatu.
