The Law Reform Commission of Sierra Leone is an independent body established under the Law Reform Commission Act of 1994 as amended to keep under review all the laws of Sierra Leone, statutory or otherwise for the purpose of their reform, development, codification or consolidation.

The Commission hereby invites applications from qualified and interested persons to fill the under-mentioned vacant positions:

1. POSITION: LEGAL OFFICER/RESEARCH ASSISTANTS (2)

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Applicants must have a University Degree in Law. Experience in legal research will be an advantage

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

¨Under the supervision of the Director of Research, to undertake legal research/studies, conduct field investigations and prepare reports appropriately.
¨ To participate in organizing seminars, consultative meetings and workshops around the country as well as to service working groups and sub-committees established by the Commission
¨ To represent the Commission at meetings, workshops and seminars as directed by the Commission

2. POSITION: I. T. OFFICER
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

1. At least a University Degree in Science and
2. Diploma in information/ computer technology or in computer studies obtained from a recognized institute.
3. At least five years post qualification experience

Good Knowledge of Microsoft office products and Hardware environment (PC, Server) will be an advantage.

Experience:
• Basic computer programming.
• Website management
• Experience in providing assistance to end users concerning the use of computer hardware and software that may be used by the Commission
• Broad knowledge of PC hardware, software and peripherals to networking.
• Ability to provide PC hardware/software training individually and in a group based setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

He/She will be expected to:
• Maintain the Commission’s Website, HTML Emails, newsletters etc.
• Organize and structure and manage the website content through the use of a content management system, creation of designs and layouts, adjust images, typography, and color schemes, as needed to achieve a cohesive look and feel and align with the institution’s image and objectives
• Actively participate in the website requirements review, analysis, and planning
• Ensure updates documentation
• Performing software installation and set up procedures.
• Performing basic network configuration procedures
• Oversee the daily performance of computer systems
• Diagnosing the cause of personal computer operations problems and taking or recommending appropriate action to take to solve those problems.
• Provide technical guidance during product planning and development
• Other duties as assigned

3. POSITION: ASSISTANT DRAFTSPERSON
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Applicants must have a good University Degree in Law, and a post graduate qualification in legal drafting. Experience in legal research will be an added advantage

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

¨ Under the supervision of the draftsperson to undertake legal research and drafting, and prepare reports appropriately.
¨ To participate in organizing seminars, consultative meetings and workshops around the country as well as to service working groups and sub-committees established by the Commission
¨ To represent the Commission at meetings, workshops and seminars as directed by the Commission

4. POSITION: SECRETARY/TYPIST (2)

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
JOB SUMMARY

Provide secretarial and administrative duties to your direct supervisor. Greet and attend to all visitors and deal with all enquiries efficiently and tactfully referring them to other supervisors when necessary.

Manage the conference room as well as maintain electronic diaries of appointments; arrange meetings.

Operate telephone calls promptly and deal with callers politely and professionally.

Transfer calls and/or take accurate messages if appropriate.

Assist in a general administrative capacity, which includes managing the flow of papers, photocopy, fax, scan documents and maintain electronic records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Be required to work under the direct supervision of the Secretary and/or immediate supervisor and perform all secretarial and administrative duties

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Must have an academic and professional certificate(s) in Secretarial duties with knowledge in all basic Microsoft Computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
