PRESS RELEASE
Africell Sierra Leone Limited
WIN YOUR DREAM PROMOTION ENDS

The Africell "WIN YOUR DREAM" promotion ended on Friday April 16th 2010 at the Country Lodge, Hill Station, Freetown. At the event, a cross section of citizens and residents of Sierra Leone gathered to participate in the final and grand finale draw; a truly epoch-making event.

The promotion started on Tuesday December 8th 2009. Like all other Africell promotions, the aims were to fulfill our corporate social responsibilities while at the same time reward our numerous subscribers in cash and kind.

To participate in the ‘Win Your Dream’ promotion, subscribers were instructed to recharge 250 units in order to have a chance to enter the ‘Win Your Dream’ draw. The more the subscribers recharged 250 units, the more chances they had. The participating subscribers who recharged 250 units automatically qualified for the "Win Your Dream" Promotion as well as secured a chance to enter the Cash Chamber from which substantial amounts of cash has been won within the allotted three minute stay in the Cash Chamber.

The humanitarian side of the ‘Win Your Dream’ promotion can be seen through the weekly invitation extended to Charitable Organizations to enter the cash chamber; and use the proceeds collected for charitable purposes.

Subscribers who recharged the 250 units had their numbers drawn electronically to select the ten finalists. Among these, three grand finalists were selected manually.

The grand final manual draw took place at the Country Lodge on April 16th 2010 that produced the winner Patrick Martin George whose dream was to own a HOUSE.

The final draw was conducted in two stages to create maximum impact on the ten participants/subscribers who were lucky to proceed through the ranks in that marathon event that had claimed the attention of the populace.

In the first of the two manual draws, the ten finalists were pitched against each other to select the three grand finalists who advanced to the grand final.

The first manual draw was conducted by the Deputy Minister of Information and Communication, Haja Sadrata Sesay while Mohamed Kamara an eleven year Class V pupil of the Milton Margai School for the Blind selected the three grand finalists.

A consolation prize of Le 2,000,000 was given to each of the remaining seven finalists that were unfortunate to enter the grand final draw.

The grand final manual draw was chaired by the Minister of Information and Communications, Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, who announced the name of the lucky winner that was picked up by Mohamed Kamara.

The two runners-up each received a grand consolation prize of Le 5,000,000.

The overall winner of the Africell "Win Your Dream Promotion" was congratulated by the chairman of the occasion who wished the winner good luck and prosperity.

The event was climaxed by a sumptuous dinner and in attendance were Diplomats, Members of the Fourth Estate, Management and Staff of Africell and a cross section of the Public.

We therefore wish the people of Sierra Leone, a wonderful 49th year of Independence.
