The Organizing Secretary for the ruling All People’s Congress Party (APC) for Bombali District in the Northern Province, Francis Thomas Tarawalie a.k.a. Mr.Tee who resides in Makeni City the Awareness Times has reliably learnt has been remanded at the Makeni Central Prisons last week. His incarceration adds to scores of unethical practices bigwigs of the ruling party are on record to be perpetrating both at home and abroad.

Francis Thomas Tarawalie (Mr. Tee) reports say was arraigned before the only female Provincial Magistrate, Emmanuella Harding of the Makeni Magistrate Court to answer to count charges. It is alleged that the APC Organizing Secretary on February 28th this year abused, trespassed, and harassed his mother –in- law contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone.

When prosecuting the accused, Court Prosecutor Mansaray said the act is a grave slap on the face of Women’s Rights especially when it was committed by a person who is charged with the responsibility of protecting the law.

It could be recalled that Mr. Tee was an aspirant for the position of Mayor in the Makeni City Council elections.

However, the accused, Thomas Tarawalie pleaded not guilty to the charges but later begged for mercy.

Upon hearing both sides in the matter Magistrate Emmanuella Harding warned and granted bail to the accused, but since nobody opted to serve as surety for Francis Thomas Tarawalie the Magistrate had no option than sending him to the Makeni Central Prison. The matter was adjourned to the 6th May 2010.
