Abdul Tejan Cole Resigns from Anti Corruption Commission of Sierra Leone

As we went to press last night, numerous credible sources have indicated that both the Commissioner of the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC), Abdul Tejan-Cole and his lead prosecutor, the Zimbabwean Calvin Mantsebo have written their Letters of Resignation from the ACC. Various reasons were given for why the two gentlemen might be resigning  but without any doubt, the malicious mal-handling of the Haja Afsatu Kabba issue by ACC is the primary reason being suspected by many who spoke to this presshouse last night.

It will not be unconnected to the manner in which the ACC totally bungled up handling of the Afsatu Kabba investigation and their subsequent prosecution of Afsatu Kabba with a malice that was palpable, said Dauda Kallon a Youth Activist last night.

Attempts to get on to the ACCs Spokesman proved futile yesterday. However, there are rumours that "political interference" and "intimidation by Haja Afsatu Kabba's supporters" was touted by Tejan-Cole and Mantsebo as reasons for their resignations.

Sources close to the embattled female politician have reacted furiously to the allegation of "intimidation". According to our Afsatu Kabba sources, the only persons who suffered intimidation, humiliation and public disgrace all this time was Afsatu Kabba, her husband and her children.

Awareness Times is following up on the developing story.
