This is to inform the general public that on Tuesday 04/05/10 at about 7:30PM, the Western Area Regional Supervisor of the Health For All Coalition found large quantities of drugs meant for the Free Health Care on sale along the Fourahbay Road, Freetown.
The Western Area Supervisor was able to apprehend some of the drugs with UNICEF labels and one 15 year old boy Abdulai Sesay. The matter was reported to Ross Road Police Station with the exhibits while other traders ran away with the other drugs and Cottons.
The mother of the accused boy Madam Aminata Kamara of 126 Fourahbay Road who gave the consignment to the boy for sale was brought to the police station today Thursday and statement obtained from her.
The Police has informed Health For All Coalition monitoring team that the matter will be charged to court on Friday 7th May 2010.
Health For All Coalition calls on the public and well meaning Sierra Leoneans to closely monitor the utilization of the Free health Care Drugs, and to promptly report any incident of malpractices to the authorities. Traders are requested not to buy or sell these drugs for or on behalf of any body.
This incident had also reported to the Officers of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation.
The monitoring team of Health For All Coalition will continue to closely follow this case and the general free health care implementation.
