United States Embassy on Resignation of ACC Commissioner Abdul Tejan-Cole

The United States Embassy expresses its regret at the resignation of Mr. Abdul Tejan-Cole as the head of Sierra Leones Anti-Corruption Commission. Mr. Tejan-Coles efforts at combating corruption in the country were truly exceptional, and we wish to congratulate him for his outstanding contributions to the wellbeing of Sierra Leone.

As we look to the future, the United States Embassy strongly encourages the Anti-Corruption Commission to persevere through its change in leadership, and to remain committed to Mr. Tejan-Coles legacy. We are confident the Government of Sierra Leone is committed to selecting a new Commissioner who demonstrates the same level of integrity, dedication, and professionalism exemplified by Mr. Tejan-Cole.

The battle against corruption in Sierra Leone is nothing less than a battle for stabilityeconomic, democratic, and politicaland the United States Embassy looks forward to working with the next Anti-Corruption Commissioner to follow Mr. Tejan-Coles example to fight tirelessly in the face of tremendous challenges, for the good of the nation.
