New Bank Notes Counterfeited so soon?

The new resized bank notes for Sierra Leone that was launched last Friday 14th May 2010 by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma in Freetown are reported to now be in full circulation across the country.  The new notes according to the Minister of Finance and Economic Development Dr. Samura Kamara, reports went on, does not in any way suggest reduction in prices of commodities. Reports say unlike the replaced notes that were prone to counterfeiting, these new bank notes are claimed by the Bank of Sierra Leone Governor Sheku Samba Deen Sesay to have security features and post print vanish that does not allows counterfeiting. However, there are already credible reports of counterfeits of the new notes appearing on the market..

Daily Mail to be produced  by APC Journalists

Reports have revealed that the once leading government owned newspaper in Sierra Leone the Daily Mail which folded up years ago due to poor management system will soon commence publication. Reports furthered that although the venture will be undertaken by some pro-APC Government journalists, the newspaper will however still remain a property of the government of Sierra Leone.

Lecturers on Sit-down Strike

It has been reported that Lecturers of the Milton Margai College of Education and Technology are presently on a sit-down strike which was commenced some three weeks ago. According to reports, their grievances stem from governments delay in paying salaries and failure to add 20% salary increment as promised earlier on.

Resigned NASSIT Accountant Allegedly in Police Net

Newspaper reports have it that the resigned Director of Finance for the National Social Security Investment Trust has been allegedly rrested by the Police for some sort of investigations. Local media reports claimed that the Director allegedly tried to flee the country after it was discovered that two billion Leones have gone missing at the Trust. There has been no comment from NASSIT.

Child Pornography Scandal Grips Bo

Reports have revealed that child pornography has taken an alarming toll in rural towns, with special reference to the Southern District Headquarter town of Bo. Reports further asserted that a male teenager who is in the habit of posting naked photos of a fourteen years old girl to various phones has been arrested and put under police custody. The accused was said to have been arrested subsequent to him texting. He is reported to have reached his waterloo after texting the clips to the phone of the victims uncle.

Five Salone Golfers to Yamoussoukro 2010

Sport reports monitored say five professional golfers from Sierra Leone have left the shores of Sierra Leone for Ivory Coast to compete in the International Yamoussoukro Golf opens 2010.  Brima Mansaray, Paul Kargbo, Jerry Dumbuya, Momodu Kargbo, and Robert Williams will be competing in the most covetous US$41,000 tournament scheduled to kickoff on 19th May and expected to end on 23rd May 2010.  The golfers are said to have been sponsored by Kenya Airways operating in Sierra Leone in collaboration with individual Managers.
