Sierra Leone’s President Ernest Bai Koroma Leads Eight Man delegation to sympathise with Nigeria & Congratulate Goodluck Jonathan

Sierra Leone’s President Ernest  Bai Koroma has today Tuesday May 18th arrived in the Federal Republic of Nigeria with an eight man delegation on a one day official visit to express how deeply felt he and the Government and People of Sierra Leone are, regarding the loss of the late President Umaru Musa Y ardua.

The eight man delegation which include the Speaker of Parliament Hon. Mr. Justice Nathaniel Abel Stronge, Information and Communication Minister Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hon. Mr. Vandi Chidi Minah, Minister of Defence Major Rtd.  Alimamy Paolo Conteh, Majority All People’s Congress (APC) Leader of the House of Parliament Hon. S. B Dumbuya and Minority Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) leader in Parliament Hon. Emmanuel Tommy.

According to Minister of Information and Communication Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, “we are here to sympathize with the Yar Adua Family, Nigerian Government and People for the death of President Umar Musa Yar adua.

 “The entourage consisting very senior Government officials, are accompanying President Ernest Bai Koroma to sympathize with the loss of a big brother in the West African sub region.

“President Ernest Bai Koroma is also here to congratulate President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on his new assignment as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”. Said Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, Minister of Information and Communication.

 Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo who described the move as significant, said this visit with a dual purpose will surly strengthen the existing ties between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Sierra Leone.

Majority APC leader Hon. S.B Dumbuya described the death of the late President as “sad”, because he was a good model of somebody with integrity, who was leading by example.

It is our conviction that we must accompany President Ernest Bai Koroma to sympathize with the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the demise of his brother-President Umar Musa Ya ardua.

Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Minority leader Hon. Emmanuel Tommy who said he is pleased and very happy to be in the delegation of President Ernest Bai Koroma, also averred that “it gives me the opportunity to mourn the late president in person. “In brotherhood, pains are shared: “our presence here in the Federal Republic of Nigeria makes a lot of difference, particularly so, when Nigeria has always been with us in thick and thin”.

President Ernest Bai Koroma was received by Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister H.E. H. Odein Ajumogobia senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs H.O. Solajah, Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner H.E. Henry O. Macauley, Acting Head of Chancery Rakie Macarthy and Pasco Gerald Temple.
