Three accused persons identified in court as Lansana Marah, Daniel Conteh and Victor Davies respectively on Wednesday 19th May 2010 made their third appearance before Magistrate Steven Conteh of Court No.1 on allegations of illegal occupation of a structure owned by the charity organization, Action Aid at Goderich village in western Freetown.
Police prosecutor DPC 8657 Lassayo recalled the 6th February 2010 when the complainant, Sylvester Williams attached to Action Aid made a report to him against the 3 accused persons for trespass.
He told the court how he and two other police officers made a spot visit on the 17th February where they strongly warned the illegal occupants to vacate the premises immediately. Failure on their part to abide by police instructions he went on, he then led two officers on the 20th February to effect arrest of the trio who were brought down to the station and charged with the offence.
All three accused were not represented in court to cross examine the prosecuting officer. The magistrate however asked each of them to ask the officer questions which they did. They were later granted bail and matter adjourned to the 3rd of June 2010.
