In Sierra Leone, First Lady Donates tractor to APCO-NET

Action for Progressive Commitment Network (APCO-NET), a community based organization on Sunday 30th May 2010 disclosed to press men at their 31 Regent Road office in Freetown that the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone Madam Sia Koroma on Monday 24th May 2010 donated a tractor to their organization.
In that meeting the director of Political Affairs Karamoko Kabba, who is the national chief adviser for the organization said the existence of such a community based organization will enhance development. He said as chief adviser led the group to the first lady to make a request for the tractor which they were in dire need of. He said first lady doe not only believe in promoting health but also capacitating agriculture to enhance the food security goal.

Also to speak was national director of the organization, Mr. Musa Sesay who said the donation from the first lady is a remarkable achievement for their organization. "The tractor will help to cultivate our large farm at Yoni Chiefdom," he said, adding that other farming community members can also benefit from it.
