With the usual collaboration and support of the Special Court for Sierra Leone, SLRCS will be hosting the 6th National Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) for tertiary institutions in Sierra Leone on Friday 4th June 2010.
This was revealed in an exclusive chat with the Communications Coordinator of the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society, Mr. Abu Bakarr Tarawallie who said this yearís competition will see six teams of three students each. He said the focus will be on arguing their interpretation of specific IHL related cases in a thirty-minute presentation during the preliminary rounds.
He said after the preliminary rounds, two teams will qualify to argue in the court room of the Special Court for Sierra Leone, adding that the winning team will be representing Sierra Leone in a Pan African Moot Court Competition in November this year in Arusha, Tanzania.
