To strengthening good relationship with subscribers for their relentless and hectic cooperation, Zain Sierra Leone Leading telecommunication Company, on Wednesday 9th June 2010 heeded to the request of the Female ticket Winner, Clara Jeneba Thomas to allow one of her family members to represent her at the World cup in South Africa.
Clara is one of the five lucky winners of the Zain Watch Football in South Africa promotional draw. She won the Zain ticket on last Sunday during a raffle draw at the Lumley Beach in Freetown.
Though the Policy of Zain does not allow such a request but the Commercial Director Keith Tukei accepted Clara’s request when it was learnt that she appealed that her precious wedding day coincided with the trip to South Africa. Clara told the Zain Management that the Souvenir had already been distributed for their marriage. She said her relationship with her darling spanned 16 years and the couple were eager to finally tie the knot as fast as possible.
To make it very fair and transparent Clara was asked by Zain to bring ten Zain numbers of her Family members. The ten Zain number were fairly displayed in a raffle draw at the Wilberforce Zain Office in Freetown in the presence of Clara and some family members, Press men and Zain Staff.
The winning phone number of 076-676585 appeared and was later known as the number of Clara’s Cousin, Mr. Abdul Kamara a 46 year Old retired Kamboi Eagle player resident in Kenema.
The new winner, Abdul with a footballnickname of "Amano Zindo" was a strong defender in the Kamboi Eagle team in the 1980s and early 1990s.
Awareness Times spoke to Keith Tukei who said marriage was a blessing and since the plan had already been established "Let her make one of her family members go" he said, adding that, "If we told her that she has thus missed the opportunity and given it to another subscriber unknown to her, she would have felt discouraged and Zain does not like its subscribers to feel discouraged". He informed that accepting her request was thus "very fair".
An Uncle of Clara, Mr. Moses Bayoh also appreciated Zain and said he will henceforth be a good PR for the Company. He said although his own number did not emerge as the winning number but for the fact that someone is going to represent their family was a clear manifestation of Zain being fair to customers.
The 5 winners will be departing the shore of Sierra Leone on the 8th July to watch the World Cup Finals, in South Africa.
