Dr Ernest Bai Koroma and host of others. "With all these achievements, there are indicators that the RSLAF is getting to achieving higher heights," he confidently said.

He also allayed the fears of the military as to the possible start point of the presidential promise for a bag of rice each to all serving personnel during the Armed Forces Week Celebration last February. "Arrangements are far advanced between the Ministries of Defence and Economic Development for the actualization of the promise.

In a related development, the Minister of Defense (Rtd) Major Palo Conteh on 19th June, 2010 commissioned the newly constructed Assault Course Facility at Teko Barracks in Makeni as an important asset for the training and maintaining the physical fitness of a fighting force. Funds for the project were provided by the Commander of the International Military Assistance and Training Team (IMATT), Colonel Hugh H Blackman. This same facility is said to be replicated in the 3 and 5 Brigades as well. The construction work was done by the Engineer Regiment of the RSLAF.
