Detective Sergeant 3683 Valcarcel attached to Aberdeen Police CID has confirmed to Awareness Times that one Mr. Joe Belle Fayia of No 8 Johnson Lane Aberdeen has reported that whilst digging within his compound to install water pipes, he discovered two rifles and other forms of arms/ammunition. Detective Valcarcel stated that immediately upon receiving the report, a team of police detectives led by D Sgt 4865 Sankoh and including Crime Officer Constable 12160 Koroma and himself, visited the scene where they discovered SLR rifles with Serial Nos UB41A121505 & UB61A121505. He revealed they also found an ammunition magazine containing twenty (20) live rounds of ammunition as well as another gun namely an old AK.47 rifle with its magazine containing ten (10) live rounds of ammunition.
Following this discovery, the police detectives carefully packaged the exhibits in a professional manner and took them to the Congo Cross Police Division where they obtained Statements from the complainant Joe Belle Fayia and two witnesses. He said as of now, there was no suspect but the investigation was in progress.
In a similar policing exercise, it has been revealed to this press that on Sunday 18th July 2010 at 02:40hours, three people were arrested with what was suspected to be cocaine in their possession. This was revealed to this reporter by Police Constable 11990 Kargbo S.M who is attached to the popular Family Kingdom Entertainment Spot along Lumley Beach. He explained that whilst carrying out his normal night patrols assisted by Congo Cross night patrol J.B Sondai, they intercepted and arrested Mohamed Sultan Kamara of Grassfield, Kissy as well as Sheku Kamara of No 5 Cockle Bay Road, off Sir Samuel Lewis Road and Elizabeth Kamara of Hassan Drive at Lumley who were all in possession of a parcel containing a white powdery substance suspected to be the addictive and prohibited drug known as cocaine.
According to P.C 11990 Kargbo, Statements were obtained from the three suspects who are helping Police with the investigations.
