In Sierra Leone, Africell Reduces Cross Network Tariff

Management of Africall, one of Sierra Leone’s leading GSM providers on Monday 2ndÂ August 2010 revealed that their cross network tariff has been reduced as low as 15 units per minute.
In a press briefing held at the company’s headquarters at Wilberforce in western Freetown, Head of Sponsorship and Events Mr. Arthur B. Kallon explained that africell being one of the biggest telecommunication companies in Sierra Leone with the highest subscriber base has taught it fit to bring more smiles to their subscribers with the new reduction in tariffs.Â He said in that vein with effect from 3rdÂ August 2010 all africell calls to other networks will cost only 15 units per minute instead of the old rate of 27 units. According to him the reduction in tariff was further proof of care for their valued subscribers.Â He however disclosed that the all other charges and free call times remain the same
At the press briefing it was also announced that the weekly ‘Sunday Jamboree’ promotion has been tentatively put on hold until further notice. The reason given for the suspension by the Head of Sponsorship and Events was the strict observance of the month of Ramadan.Â He used the occasion as an opportunity to inform press men that africell has recently received an award from SLMTV as the best GSM Company of the year.
Head of Marketing, Madam Nancy L Joseph implored subscribes to show understanding for the suspension of the ‘Sunday Jamboree’ promotion. She however, expressed that they were working on modalities to replace it with a new promotion during the month of Ramadan. She encouraged subscribers to stay put and get ready for the other promotion that will be soon launched.
