In Sierra Leone, NASSIT Receives 10 Affordable Houses in Waterloo

In line with  recent handing over ceremonies  of affordable houses held in Makeni and Kenema  the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) has yesterday 17th August 2010 again received (10) ten affordable houses in Waterloo constructed by the International Construction Company ICC .The (6) six of  the  ten (10) houses  are  a three  bedroom unit  while the four (4) are  a two (2) bedroom unit .


Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the Project Manager NASSIT Mr. Seray Timbo informed that the construction of the ten affordable houses in Waterloo was to mark the pilot phase of the project. He said they have secured 103 acres of land for the construction of ten (10) more houses before the end of the project.

He further called on members of the public to use this opportunity to own a house. He said NASSIT as a national institution that operates within the realm of quality, cost control, time frame and also ensure that the procurement rules are duly followed. He assured that NASSIT will continue to work within it social responsibilities, adding that electricity and pipe-born water will soon be provided at the sites.


The Deputy Director General for NASSIT Joseph Mans Jr. thanked his Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma for allocating the land to them free of cost which he said will greatly reduce the cost of the houses.

Mr. Mans further informed that one could only access the houses through either outright purchase or through the mortgage system.


He finally called on the public to grab this opportunity as the houses are meant for the low income earners.
