The Master of the Law Courts, Elwyn Bailor, has yesterday August 26th 2010, told this writer that the August 18th FOR DI PEOPLE newspaper article misrepresenting the age of an 18 years old convict to be a 15 years old juvenile was contemptuous of the court as it made Magistrate Shyllon appear as having jailed a mere juvenile when the person jailed was considered to be an adult at the age of 18 years. He however confessed that, Judiciary “would have preferred for the Contempt matter to have been tried by another member of the Bench rather than by Magistrate Shyllon himself”. Meanwhile, Magistrate Shyllon is still adamant that he has done nothing  wrong whilst FOR DI PEOPLE says they’ll report him to   Judicial & Legal Service Commission. Other lawyers inform that Magistrates have no lawful powers to commit for Contempt but only Judges can do so.
