In Sierra Leone, 76 Subscribers Grab Africell ‘Find the Missing Treasure’ Prizes

One of the leading GSM providers in Sierra Leone, Africell-Lintel on 1st September 2010 presented over Le.17 Million to about 76 lucky winners of  the ongoing ‘Find the Missing Treasure’ Promotion at the company’s Wilberforce headquarters in Freetown.


In his presentation, the Head of Section Event and Sponsorship Mr. Arthur B. Kallon noted that they consider each and every subscriber of Africell as part of their family which is one of the reasons why they are always organizing promotions to build up the lives and expectations of their subscribers.

He said the ‘Find the Missing Treasure’ promotion is one of the most popular promotions that Africell has introduced so far in the country, adding that subscribers across the country have the opportunity to take part in the promotion by sending blank SMS to 777 and stand a chance to win a brand new 32 inches Plasma Television, Freezer, 2.5 KVA Generator, Cash Prices ranging from Le 200,000 to Le 400,000  per winner. He assured that the promotion is transparent and as it is being monitored by one of the most outstanding firms in the country as well as members of the Fourth Estate.  He said in spite of criticisms from some segments of the public, all their promotions are free and fair and that Africell always give out what they promise their lucky winners. “The promotion is to keep subscribers happy, especially those observing the month of Ramadan,” he informed.  He used the opportunity to encourage Africell subscribers to continue sending SMS to 777 and stand a chance to win the grand price of Le 60 Million.

Mr. Kallon also revealed that to stand a chance to win the full Hajj package that comprises of traveling and accommodation expenses, subscribers should send bland SMS to 710. 


Africell Communication Officer, Tommy Terry Coker who announced the names of  the 76 lucky winners noted that the cash prizes range from Le200,000 to Le400,000, while the items won included a 32-inches Plasma Television, Freezer, 2.5 KVA Generator and recharge cards.


In his remarks one of the winners who clinched the 32 Inches Plasma Television by the name of Fatmatu Bah commended Africell for introducing such a wonderful promotion for subscribers, saying that was the true moment for her to believe in Africell promotions as not dubious ways of duping people.  She said since people often detest promotions held by mobile companies as gambling and fake methods to eat subscribers’ monies, she believes that is not the case with Africell.

Another winner that clinched the 2.5 KVA Generator prize, Modupeh Fewry expressed his thanks and appreciation to the company for providing him with such a wonderful gift during the month of Ramadan.
