In Sierra Leone, Six More Presidential Nominees Face Parliament

Members of Parliament on the Oversight Committee on Appointments and the Public Service on Friday 3rd September 2010 interviewed and scrutinized six Presidential nominees for approval to various positions.
Addressing the nominees, chairman of the committee, Hon. S.B.B Dumbuya of the APC cautioned that as an oversight committee with responsibility to interview all presidential nominees, it was but fitting to always adhere to their mandate. The nominees that faced Parliament were Mr. Mustapha B. Abdulai for Sierra Leone Ports Authority Board; Mr. Mohamed Sowa Turay for National Assets and Government Property Commission; Brigadier Robert Yirra Koroma for Chief of Defence Staff of the RSLAF; Alphonso A. Manley as Youth representative on the NationalYouth Commission; Abdul Wahib Kanu for Board member Sierratel and Elvis Jacob Gbanabom Hallowell as SLBC Deputy Director General. They were all separately posed questions ranging from their commitment to experience expected of them to deliver.
All the nominees assured that they would to work tirelessly in their various institutions if the honorable House of Parliament approved them.
