APC MP Commissions New Primary School

The Honorable Member of Parliament for Constituency 103, Alieu Badara Turay on Monday 13th September 2010 commissioned a newly constructed private school within the Moyiba Community in the east end of Freetown.

In his statement Hon. Turay said the construction of the Grace Community High School was in fulfillment of the call by government on private entities to bring investment to the door steps of their communities. “This is part of government’s commitment to help improve the educational system in Sierra Leone,” he said, while calling on parents and guardians to make use of the opportunity.

According to the proprietor Mr. Momoh O. Kamara, the establishment of the school in his community was a clear manifestation of his desire to help improve on our educational standards. He said Moyiba was one of the under developed communities in Freetown that needed facilities such as schools, markets and hospitals among others to catch up with modernization.

In her short contribution, the representative from the Ministry of Education, Youths and Sport, Madam Agness Dumbuya said Sierra Leoneans must all work together to regain the country’s past and lost glory.

Chairman of the occasion Sahr E. Yambasu also expressed similar sentiments in his statement, as he also made a clarion call to parents and guardians to make the school their baby.
