Sierra Leone Embassy in Addis Ababa gets new Secretary

The newly posted first Secretary to the Sierra Leone Embassy in Addis Ababa was welcomed into the Chancery and introduced in an elating way to home-based and local staff by His Excellency Mr. Andrew Bangali on Friday 3rd September 2010.

Mrs. Juliana Sia Hawa Fallah (nee Blake) is replacing Mr. Mohamed Hashim who has served the Mission for close to seven years. Mrs. Fallah was the erstwhile Consular Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Freetown. 

Ambassador Bangali who doubles as Sierra Leones envoy to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) described Mr. Hashim as the encyclopaedia of the Embassy, having served the longest among the home-based staff.


He depicted the incoming Officer as being knowledgeable on visa and consular issues and added that she is a very hard working Officer.


After Ambassador Bangalis arrival in Addis Ababa he made a passionate request to Headquarters in Freetown for a female Officer to be posted here to handle gender related issues in the African Union Commission and the ECA.


Sierra Leones Deputy Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr. Amadu Koroma also joined the Ambassador in welcoming Mrs. Fallah to Addis Ababa and assured her that we will work with you as a team and enjoy your stay in Addis.

In her brief remarks, Mrs. Juliana Fallah thanked all the staff for the warm reception accorded her. She extended a special gratitude to the Ambassadors Secretary, Mrs. Rose-Marie Kargbo for the support and comfort she provided for her family upon their arrival.
