DMS Group-Sierra Leone (Darcin Investments) with headquarters in the Turkish capital of Istanbul early this week presented assorted school materials to pupils of the Goderich Waldorf School at Limba Corner, Rokel Village on the outskirts of Freetown.

At the presentation ceremony held on school campus, the chairman of the occasion, Sallieu Bah noted that the donation was timely given the biting economic situation in the country that do not allow parents and guardians to afford learning materials for their children. I join the parents and guardians to thank the organisation for relieving them of the task of scouting out for materials since most of what are needed by the kids for easy and better learning have now been made available by DMS, he stated, adding that the village has been longing for charity groups and humanitarian organisations to assist the poor children to access quality education.

In response DMS Group Director Amara Tucker noted that donating school items to facilitate the learning process of children was like helping the country achieve its dream of quality education. Sierra Leone is now my home, and my vision is how best I can help the poor kids to access better education, he noted, he went on. He also disclosed that efforts were underway to secure more assistance for the youth in that community.

Goderich Waldorf Head teacher, Mr. Emmanuel Yagbaji also thanked DMS for what he described as a laudable and timely gesture. We assure the group that the donated items will be judiciously utilized for their intended purposes as the beneficiary pupils are in dire straits in accessing school materials, he expressed.

The donated items comprised of school bags, exercise books, pens and pencils, for about 50 school pupils. The package also included footballs and food items.
