President Koroma Sacks Security Chief


Reports have alleged that the Director General of the Central Intelligence and Security Unit of the Office of National Security (ONS) Abdulai Mustapha has been relived of his duties by President Koroma. According to report alleged, no official reason has been given by State House for his removal. Mr. Abdulai Mustapher reportedly disclosed that on that fateful day Tuesday 5th October, he went to State House to attend a press briefing when he was told that he has been relieved of his duties as Director General of CISU.


Momodu Koroma Assures SLPP of Victory


Local tabloids say, one of the leading contenders of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party Flagbearship, Alhaji Momodu Koroma recently assured his party stalwarts of victory come 2012 elections. Mr. Koroma is said to have made this statement in Bo last Tuesday  when he was admonishing  party supporters to put aside their bitterness of 2007 elections defeat and work assiduously to ensure election  victory come 2012s. He reportedly underscored that the current harsh living conditions in the country are  caused by the ruling APC  government adding that  they should  be united as a party  to defeat APC come 2012 elections.


City Council, SLRA Draw Daggers


It has been allegedly revealed that authorities of th  Freetown City Council (FCC) and Sierra Leone Road Authority (SLRA) are currently engaged in war  of words  over who is responsible to clean the stinky drainages within Freetown. Members of the FCC alleged that SLRA is responsible for the cleaning of the drainages and to ensure that culverts are not blocked. They further alleged that  SLRA  had previously given money to FCC to undertake the venture but in recent past they have stopped. The Public Relations Officer of SLRA has reportedly refuted the claims saying that it was the sole responsible of FCC to undertake the venture. He informed that FCC always collects dues from taxi drivers and other commercial drivers plying the city.


GGEA Delegates Visit Salone


Delegates of the Ghanaian German Economic Association (GGEA) have reportedly arrived in Sierra Leone past Monday to build up a relationship between their establishment and the private sectors of Sierra Leone. Business people of Sierra Leone hav  been admonished to be accountable and transparent with all investors in order  to gain more supports from the latter. GGEA had promised many private business bodies of extending its tentacles into Sierra Leone


Traditional Healers Destroy witch Guns


Traditional Healers from all parts of the country on Monday stormed  Rokel and Devil Hole Villages and removed  and destroyed a good number of witch guns fangay and gbindikoh The President of the Traditional Healers Union Dr. Alhaji Sulamian Kabba has reportedly vowed to destroy all tools used by witch craft people to destroy the lives of  innocent people in Sierra Leone. The team is said to be planning  other visits to other places in the country in order to weed out this evil practice..

Parliament Opens Today

Local tabloids say President Koroma will today highlight his three years achievements during the state opening of the House of Parliament. According to report this years state opening is going to be very crucial as it is going to mark another milestone in the political landscape of Sierra Leone. Reports say many people including international donors and diplomats have been invited.


German Doctor Save Sierra Leonean Patients


Local tabloids say patients suffering from spinal problems are once again beneficiaries  of the two German Spinal Surgeons who are regularly visiting the country to offer assistance. Dr. Ulrich Reiniger and Dr. Scolt Fekete are presently at the Choithram Memorial Hospital to offer free operations on spinal patients. The doctors are said to have already concluded operation on five patients and hope to render more operations.

Man Beat Wife to Coma

A 33-year- old woman Gina Goba residing at Hill Station in Freetown, was  last Sunday brutally manhandled  by her ex-husband to coma. The victim sustained several bruises and injury on her body. According to report alleged, the woman was asked last year by the Family Support Unit (FSU) to vacate the residence of the husband a  they wee no longer married couples. She alleged that the ex-husband Kabbah Jalloh beat her t coma  until when she  was rescued by neighbors.  Matter is currently under police investigation.
