The Blyden Family announces the following final arrangements in connection with the death of their dear husband, father, grandfather, Great-grandfather, Professor Emeritus Dr. Edward Wilmot Blyden III, aged 92 years.
The vigil has taken place at the family home, 3 Smart Farm, Wilkinson Road on Monday 25th October 2010 from 7pm - 10pm. It was conducted in Old Style Creole Settler form with the late man lying in State at the residence during the vigil.
Today ,Tuesday 26th October 2010, he will be laid out at the Zion Methodist Church, Wilberforce Street at 12 noon. Funeral service will follow at the church at 2pm to be followed by internment at the Race Course Cemetery next to the grave of his own Grandfather, Edward Wilmot Blyden the First.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Professor Emeritus Dr Amelia Elizabeth Blyden;
His children: Babatunde, Isa, Baibureh, Dr. Fenda Akiwunmi, Rakiat Cleopatra, Dr. Eluem Richard, Chef Didi Katib, Dr. Nemata Bickersteth;
