The National Secretary General for the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) party Victor Bockarie Foh has described Sierra Leone as a Farm and the APC Government officials as Birds busy eating on the Farm. Speaking to journalists yesterday October 28th 2010, Mr. Victor B. Foh said the APC has not been calling regular Press Briefings because as he put it in Krio that “Da bud wae dae eat res nar farm nor dae tok borku” translated in English as ‘a pecking bird makes less noise.’

Mr. Foe also used the forum as an opportunity to explain to journalists what he said were achievements of the APC since their assumption of political leadership in 2007. According to him, the agenda for change prioritizes four key areas in their developmental strides such as enhancing national electricity, developing the national transport network, enhancing productivity in Agriculture and Fisheries and sustaining human development and there have been tremendous improvement in these areas under the APC government.

He furthered that the Ernest Bai Koroma government has been able to restore credibility and re-brand the image of Sierra Leone in the eyes of the international community especially to people like Tony Blair and George Soros.

In the area of fighting corruption, Mr. Foh stated that the APC is fully convinced that fighting corruption is integral to the Government’s commitment to promote accountability and improve on integrity of public officials so as to enhance investment and prevent misappropriation of public funds/resources. He said towards this goal, the APC enacted one of the toughest Anti-Corruption laws in Africa.

“The APC believes in the Rule of Law, painful as it may be when the Law bites our member but we still respect the Judiciary,” ended Mr. Foh, one of the APC Birds eating rice on the Sierra Leone farm.
