The African Foundation For Development (AFFORD-SL) will this year join their partners the world over to host the Global Entrepreneurship week in Freetown from the 15th to the 21st November, 2010 on the theme: “Doorway to Youthful Innovative Enterprises.” This is the very first time Sierra Leone is joining other partners to celebrate what is being dubbed ‘a great business event’ aimed at promoting entrepreneurship especially among young people.
Series of activities have been lined up by AFFORD for this maiden celebration in Sierra Leone with mass participation and of people of all ages to gain quality entrepreneurial experiences.
The Global Entrepreneurship week is a world wide movement of entrepreneurial people, with millions unleashing their enterprising talents, and turning their ideas into reality. This week puts a spotlight on enterprise, opening new opportunities for people across the country and the world at large.
Following the National Business Plan Competition “Business Bomba” last year, AFFORD has strengthened existing businesses with further inspiring others to start their own businesses. The organization always collaborates with organization like NaCSA, International Rescue Committee (IRC), Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) and others to organize events across the country to help develop entrepreneurial skills, build confidence and actualize ambitions; and in furtherance of that deemed it necessary to support government initiative to create a healthy economic and business environment.
