Football analysts in Freetown have made public that the Premier Media Football team is sure to suffer a humiliating defeat in the hands of the seasoned Awareness Times Newspaper football team, in the forthcoming friendly football match slated for tomorrow Saturday 13th November 2010 at the Keity Field in Kingtom.
The match has already garner momentum with hundreds of football lovers well set to grace an interesting and memorable match.
The assertions of the football analysts are based on the fact that the Awareness Times Newspaper is not only comprised of ace and investigative journalists, but can also boast of skillful and active footballers.
Irrespective of the 1-0 victory the Premier Media Team recorded over Cotton Tree News (CTN) in a recent friendly, the outstanding performance put up by the Awareness Times team during a football match organized in commemoration of the Newspaper’s five years anniversary is no doubt enough to get the Premier Media team kneeling for mercy.
Meanwhile, football analysts and commentators, who witnessed the Premier Media/CTN match, have described the Premier Media team as unfit to challenge the Awareness Times team in any sporting activity.
“The Awareness Times team consists of young, energetic, skillful, bouncing and active players, whilst all the Premier Media team can boast of is people who are not only overgrown by ages but with puffy stomachs,” said a senior sports commentator in Sierra Leone, Abu Bakarr Turay (ABT).
Meanwhile, scores of Premier Media staff, who asked not to be named, have confessed that their team is already jittery over the lineup of Awareness Times, and have pleaded for a moderate defeat.
Notwithstanding the aforementioned revelations of the weakness of the Premier Media team, the Awareness Times team never underestimates the potentials of others, and have since engaged in vigorous training exercises over the past few days.
Awareness Times team captain, James Bampia Bundu, has expressed his team’s determination to thrash the Premier Media team with no less than three goals.
“This match will send signals to other media institutions and the world at large that the Awareness Times is unbeatable in all spheres,” James Bampia Bundu, who doubles as the Chairman of the Awareness Times Association, boasted with confidence.
Meanwhile, the Publisher of Awareness Times Newspaper, Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden has not only consented to give her team all the support needed but has also agreed to personally grace the match and cheer up her boys. The Awareness Times is comprised of staff of Awareness Times Newspaper and Awareness Times Printing Press.
The Premier Media team consists of staff of Premier News Newspaper including their Editor James Williams, Premier Talk Radio.
It has been agreed by both institutions that only staff would be allowed to play.
