A young man who was identified as One Osman Sesay is currently detained at the Central Police Division for stealing a lawyer’s Black Berry mobile phone in court.

Lawyer RPG Robert fondly known as Legal One on Wednesday 17th November nearly lost his phone to the young man was he not smart enough to alert the police.

Explaining the incident, RPG Robert said he was busy talking to one of his clients in Court No. 2 with his file on top of a table when Osman snatched the phone and disappeared. “After talking to my client I looked up the table but only the file was there,” he stated. He said it was his client who told him that somebody was close to the table when he was talking which information he swiftly acted upon by contacting the police. “The Police mounted a check point at the entrance of the law courts and fortunately the thief was caught as he was rushing out towards Siaka Steven Street,” he furthered.

The lawyer however, reported that when onlookers rushed at the thief and started beating him up, he told the police to repel them and take the boy to the station.

When asked, Osman said he found the phone on the ground but that he searched for the owner before deciding to go out.

The phone was handed over to the rightful owner while the culprit was dragged to the Central Police Station for further investigation.
