The battle to win the Airtel prizes and tickets has taken an interesting twist as it gains momentum amongst students at the Mokonde Campus of Njala University.
On assignment at the University, this reporter witnessed several debates among students, especially with regards the local farmer from Kenema who won the first Airtel ticket to attend the show in Nigeria.
They expressed satisfaction over the manner in which the draws are being conducted, whilst eagerly anticipating that the next winner would be a student from their campus.
All of the students who spoke to this reporter were excited and wished to be part of the MAMA show
ďI know how to sing Africa music and I am a fan of Airtel, one of the female students said.
Salia Genda said when Airtel was Zain Njala Students have always travelled to other African Countries to compete with other Anglophone Universities.
They described that opportunity as first of it kind in the history of the University, disclosing that the university benefited immensely from that opportunity.
Airtelís Head of Corporate Affairs and Communication, Kelvin Kellie told the Awareness Times that the MAMA show is for all their subscribers, young or old rich or poor. He said Airtel is a mother to all customers and that very soon they will reach the least man in the country. He maintained that the Airtel MAMA show is part of their corporate social responsibility to reward their subscribers.
Airtelís Public Relation Executive June Rose Johnson said Airtel subscribers, like the first ticket winner, can be lucky winners to witness the show.
She therefore appealed to all to spend 10 units for the journey to Nigeria.
