Former Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Haja Afsatu Kabba, has officially launched the Fullah Town Women’s Organization.
The organization, which is comprised of women from the Fullah Town and Mountain Cut communities, was formally launched on Sunday 28th November 2010 at the Amaraia Secondary School Compound, Mountain Cut, Freetown.
At the launch, Minister of Transport and Aviation, Allieu Pat-Sowe, said the launch is an indication that the women are all set to take the challenge to develop themselves and the community.
He pointed out that the women must note that their major challenge is to strengthen and sustain the organization.
Minister Pat-Sowe assured the women that he will always associate with, and support the Fullah Town Women Organization in whatever developmental undertaking.
“When women come together for development, there is absolutely no doubt that it can be achieved smoothly,” the minister said, adding that the need for men to support women cannot be overemphasized.

Minister Pat-Sowe furthered that the initiative of the women is exemplary and worth emulating, whilst stressing that people should not always sit and wait for government to do the magic.
He admonished the organization members to be steadfast in whatever they do, and pay less attention to destructive criticisms.
Member of Parliament (MP) representing the community under review, Hon. Nuru Deen Sankoh Yillah said men should work hard to support women in any difficulties.
He commended the former Fisheries and Marine Resources Minister, Haja Afsatu Kabba, for helping a lot of women during her tenure as a government functionary.
