Principal of the Sierra Leone Grammar School, Mr. Akiwande Lasite and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Makeni, Reverend Father Joe Turay, on Thursday 9th December 2010, received the Second National Integrity Award from the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).

The two distinguished personalities were awarded for distinguished performances and attitudes towards corruption. The ceremony took place at the Bank of Sierra Leone Complex in Kingtom and it was held to mark International Anti Corruption Day.

Deputy Commissioner of ACC, Mr. Morlai Buya Kamara, said corruption was a global issue and the ACC alone cannot fight it except with the help of the general public and patriotic citizens. He disclosed that the choices were by respectable judges and are in recognition of the uprightness and honesty being demonstrated by them.
