In Sierra Leone, Soja, Two Others Freed on Bail

A personnel of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) and two others, who were remanded at the Pademba Road prisons on accusations of threatening the Director of Open Government Initiative (OGI), have been freed on bail.
RSLAFís Kerefa Tarawallie, Kelfala Conteh and Musa Conteh made their second appearance before Magistrate Josiah Wellington on Tuesday 14th¬†December 2010 to answer to five count charges of assault, threatening remarks, public insult, provocation and disorderly behaviour.
The charge sheet states that the accused persons on Tuesday 7th¬†December 2010 threatened, insulted and provoked the OGI Director, Khadijatu Sesay. The matter involved a piece of land at Hill Station in Freetown which the first accused Kerefa Tarawallie and the OGI boss are claiming ownership over.
The first accused person is insisting that he has legal and correct documents to confirm his ownership of the land.
Honourable Nye Cuffie and Elvis Kargbo are representing the three accused persons. Bail application was granted and the matter was adjourned to Friday 17th¬†December 2010.¬†
