FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT

SAMUEL JOSEPH EUSTACE METZGER

 

Freetown: The National Secretariat of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists and the Sam Metzger family announced the death of Mr. Samuel Joseph Eustace Metzger, which sad event took place at his residence 23 Kissy Road, Freetown, on Monday 10th October 2011. Aged 84 years.

The late Sierra Leone media icon, Sam Metzger was one of the founding members and first President of SLAJ. He served as Editor of both the Sierra Leone Peoples Partys UNITY Newspaper and the All Peoples Congress WE YONE Newspaper.
 

He is survived by his children Tunde, Edward, Patrick, Patricia, Handel, Salina, Blanche, Elsie, Farrell, Dorin, Dorinda, Dowu, Kebbie and Fatu. Grand Children, Jacqueline, Eustace, Kingston, Joseph, Dorinda and Richard. Great Grand Children, Mathew and Nathan.


In-law, Mr. Alafia Johnson and several other relations and friends, including the Metzger family, Luke family, Chartor family, Frazer family, Jones family, Lucan family, Akabi-Davies family, Snell family, Oluwole family, Alghali family, Commings family, Collier family, Leigh family, Newman-Smart family, Bobby Allen family, Itan family, Kosseh family, Wilson family, Pratt family, and Beserve family.

 

There will be a vigil on Thursday 27th October 2011 at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Kissy Road Freetown, at 7:30 p.m


His body will be laid at his residence, 23 Kissy Road, Freetown on Friday 28th October 2011 from 10:30 a.m until 12 noon, and at the Church of the Holy Trinity from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m


Funeral and Communion service will take place at 3p.m on the same day at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Kissy Road, Freetown and interment at the Kissy Road Cemetery.
