Contrary to what she says are false and unfounded reports published on the front pages of some pro-SLPP newspapers that erstwhile Member of Parliament (MP) for Constituency 112 in Lumley, Hon. Salamatu Turay has revealed to them her intention to resign her membership from the All Peoples Congress (APC) party and join the Revolutionary United Front Party (RUFP), the honorable herself in an exclusive interview with the Awareness Times on Monday 15th October 2012, debunked the allegations and referred to them as fake and unfounded.

She reassured her commitment and loyalty for the APC, saying I remain and will die APC.

According Hon. Turay, she never gave interview to any journalist with regards her status in the APC and intent to join the RUFP. She said the article is aimed to bring her hard work in the APC and Sierra Leone as a whole, to disrepute.

Hon. Turay used the forum to assure the general public that her loyalty and commitment to President Koroma and the entire APC party will never be invaded by any other political party in Sierra Leone, adding that even though she lostAPC symbol to run for a second term in Parliament for Constituency 112, she will still serve the party.

APC is in my blood, I met APC in my family and APC is in me, so why should I think of defecting to another party and become a complete stranger? Hon. Turay questioned.

She further expressed satisfaction to His Excellency President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma and the entire APC Symbol Awards Committee for a free and fair symbol award process in her Constituency, whilst assuring her total support for Mr. Shekuba Amani Sannoh who will succeed her in the next Parliament.
