Ali Dausy Wurie was born on the 22nd November, 1910 at Gbinti, Dibia Chiefdom, Port Loko District, Northern Province. He was married with nine children. Hobbies: Reading and taking long walks. Resident Director Sierra Leone Development Company. He was 'Life President' of the Sierra Leone Football Association. Consultant to Waportman International Ltd and Sierra Leone Ports Authority.
Educated Bo Government School 1922-31:
Senior Prefect & Head Boy; Both Cricket & Football Captain:
Winner Silver Watch prize for "Best all-Rounder" at the School.
1941: Joined SLDC: promoted Personnel Manager
1949: Industrial tour of the U.K. - one year
1951: Resigned DELCO and joined UAC.
1954: Promoted Manager: 12 months at UAC, Nigeria
1955: Manager, Hardware Kingsway Stores, Freetown
1956-63: served as Member Port Loko District Council
1959-60: Vice -President SLAFA
1960: Six months at Kingsway- Accra. Returned to take over as Manager, UAC - Makeni
1960-63: Representative, Northern Province at National Sports Council
1962: Elected Freetown City Councillor, East Ward: President SLAFA. Member Government Advisory Committee, Ten Year Development Plan.
1963: Awarded MBE
1964: Appointed Resident Director, DELCO
1964: Elected Alderman, Freetown City Council. Appointed Member, Management Board Kambia District Council.
1965: Elected Chairman, Sierra Leone Employers Federation till
1976; elected as Vice-Chairman, Chamber of mines from 1965.
1966: appointed Chairman Board of Governors, Port Loko Women Teachers College and re-appointed yearly to date.
1967: Awarded CBE; Member City Council Committee of Management: First National President to reconstitute SLAFA.
1975: Appointed Member, Court of University of Sierra Leone.
1976: Appointed Member, Council of Milton Margai Teachers College,
1976: Awarded MRSL
1976: Appointed Chairman, Interim Committee, Ports Authority
1977: Appointed Ports Authority Consultant to Waportman International Limited
1978: Member, Board of Directors, Standard Bank of Sierra Leone
