The Inspector General of Police Francis Munu has on 19th August 2015, invited the mother and other family members of the young lady murdered on Lumley Beach to assured them that the Sierra Leone Police was doing all it can to get to the bottom of what happened to the late Hannah Bockarie. He explained that the reason why he wanted to speak to them directly was to sympathise with them and give his personal assurance and that of the Police Executive Management over the due diligence that the matter has been given at all levels of the Police since the day the corpse was discovered.

He diligently intimated the family on developments that had happened from the angle of policing since the corpse was found on the beach. He unveiledthe intelligence gathering techniques that are actively on.

Responding on behalf of the family, the grandfather Rtd Regimental Sergeant Major Bockarie thanked the Inspector General of Police. He said he appreciated the time IG Munu took to explain in detail the developments so far.

Whilst appreciating the support that his family has received so far, the retired soldier passionately begged “This is a poor family and I am myself a retired soldier with no money. The late girl’s father died in active service fighting rebels during the war. Now, we have no money to even give her a befitting funeral let alone hire investigators to find her killers. We only rely on the Police and the Government to help us investigate this matter”.

Information is that a post-mortem examination by the Government Pathologist will be conducted today in the presence of the late girl’s family.
