Greetings Friends

I left Yale University yesterday May 17th where we completed Phase 1 of our African Women Leadership Forum. Now starting Phase 2 in Washington DC where I am at U.S. Congress for several meetings of great African Women Leaders.

3 Photographs with this update.

One shows me posing with two great ladies who are older than me but whom I am highly privileged to count on as my friends and mentors. I am here with the 2nd woman to be President of an African Nation, H.E. Joyce Banda of Malawi (on right) and also with the 3rd woman to be President of an African Nation, H.E. Catherine Samba Panza of Central African Republic (on left).

Also accompanying this update is a historic photo of myself which I recently stumbled upon. It was taken 22 years ago in 1995 and shows me (standing extreme left at back) with other young women/girls from  across Africa as we sang solidarity songs on Youths Day at the United Nations Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995. I was chosen by all the young ladies you see in this photo to be the one to speak on the floor of the international session on behalf of all young women of Africa. As can be seen, I was identified early by my African peers as a Leader.

Also shared is a photo taken yesterday of myself and Hon. Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah, the current female Deputy Prime Minister of Namibia who was not only the African Negotiator for that Beijing Conference but went on to become the chosen Global Rapporteur in Beijing and later made further History when she went on to be the one who pushed Resolution 1325 in the U.N. Security Council. I felt so proud to meet her again here at Yale Leadership Forum and re-connect after 22 years from Beijing.

If you like these photos that we posed for as well as the historic one of me, then please feel free to re-share them.
