Sierra Leone News : Tony Konomanyi Declares for Koidu City Mayor

A born and bred in Kono district, Tony Tamba Konomanyi has on Thursday 25th May 2017, declared his intention to run for the Mayoral position of the Koidu New Sembehun City Council under the ticket of the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) Party.


Tony as he is fondly called in an exclusive interview with Awareness Times Newspaper disclosed that his aspiration to run for the seat comes from the burning desire of his Kono people who admired his administrative acumen and his role in the transformation of the entire Kono district.

 

Tony as a youngman, enjoys a huge support from his colleague youths and all ages in the district. This is exhibited t as his interaction power goes beyond political color an affiliation.

The young charismatic and highly educated man who has worked in the Ministry of Justice in the United Kingdom for fifteen years (15yrs.) dismissed falsely fabricated, propaganda from misguided folks mainly from the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP), that All People’s Congress (APC) has lost its grip in Kono district. He maintained that, the developmental strides of the All Peoples Congress under the astute leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma is undisputed in the history ofthe district and the (APC) party remain very much popular and firmly in charge of the district. “The popularity of the All People’s Congress (APC) has been proven in the recent bye election in constituency 025 in the district and the same will replicate itself come 2018 general elections.” Tony said.

 

Tony TambaKonomanyi has vowed to deliver Koidu City Council to the All Peoples Congress (APC) in an over whelming victory if given the symbol to run in the 2018 general elections.When asked about his popularity in the district, Tony said such a question is difficult to answer by himself as it should be a question to the people who will tell. He narrates that he has being in Kono back for the past five years. He said, “I have been in Kono district from the United Kingdom (UK) for the past five years, doing my confidential business as a farmer, interacting with youths and other stakeholders in the district. I was well known in Kono before I travel to the United Kingdom” He added that he was very committed in sensitizing his people during the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease to adhere to the bye laws to mitigate the transmission of the virus.

 

In a recently concluded football match at the Koidu community field where he was endorsed by several youth groups in the district and have called on the leadership of the All People’s Congress party (APC) to give the symbol to Tony for the Mayoral position.

 

Tony is described by Abu Bakarr Jalloh a resident in Koidu New Sembehun City Council as a magnanimous, kindhearted, selfless, humble, highly religious tolerant andhas respect for all ages, man that doesn’t believe in tribal politics. “Tony has helped many of our compatriots in the academic and business fields without asking for reward.” Abu Bakarr Jalloh noted.
