Sierra Leone News : 50/50 Group and OSIWA Trains 50 Correctional Officers

The 50/50 Group in Partnership with Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) on Thursday 1st June 2017 started a two-day Training workshop at the Group’s headquarters, OAU Drive, Tower Hill, Freetown. The training is titled; Breaking Barriers: Empowering Female Correctional Officers in Leadership Skills for Political Participation.
Addressing newsmen at their edifice, the founder of 50/50 Group, Dr. Nemata Majeks-Walker disclosed that, 50/50 is a non-partisan campaign for more women in politics and public life through training and advocacy, and has succeeded in placing women’s representation on the political agenda in Sierra Leone, as part of its commitment to promoting the equitable participation of women in governance.
