Justice Alieu John Bosco July 31st, 2017 has remanded the accused person Kekuda Mansaray who is a teacher in custody at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Center in Freetown for the alleged sexual penetration on a five-year-old girl (name withheld).
The accused person is charged on one count charge of sexual penetration of a child contrary to section 19 of the Sexual Offences Act 2012.
The State prosecutor J.M.S. Bull alleged that the accused person had sexually penetrated the five year old child on the 4th April 2016, in Freetown.
The victim’s mother testifying in court said that on the 4th April this year whilst she was bathing her child she noticed that someone had tampered with her .”As I was washing her she shouted,” the mother said. “As I went closer to her private part she screamed louder,” the victim’s mother revealed.
She added that the victim was afraid to say what had happened to her because she said the perpetrator had threatened to kill her if she tells any one.
“She finally opened up to me,’’ the mother said.
She went on to say that they went together with some family members with the child house to house to identify who and where she was assaulted and she identified the accused person and his house.
She went further to say that she came home and told the victim’s father about what had happened and they later reported the matter to the police station.
Justice John Bosco denied bail to the accused person who happens to be a teacher and has since been on the run, and ordered that he is incarcerated at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Centre in Freetown and the matter was adjourned to the 4th August 2017 for continuation.
