The ongoing matter between Dr Sylvia Blyden publisher of the Awareness Times and Christopher Koker, Acting Editor of the PEEP! Magazine came up yesterday 14th October, 2010 at Court No. 11 before His Worship Magistrate Davies Cole with the Magistrate giving a final warning to Koker to cease and desist from publishing scurrilous articles that seek to defame the female publisher.
The "final warning" came about after Lawyer James Fornah Sesay applied for the accused’s bail to be withdrawn for continuing to publish and print libelous stories against Dr. Sylvia Blyden.
After making his application, the accused’s Lawyer, C.J. Cole, on behalf of his client begged the courts that such a thing would never happen again. He also begged the magistrate not to send his client to Pademba Road prisons by withdrawal of bail conditions his client currently enjoys.
Magistrate Davies Cole in his wisdom, reminded Mr. Christopher Koker of his earlier warning on this same matter and also added that criminal libel was a serious matter and if Koker continued to publish those articles he would not only be considered to be in contempt of court but he would find himself without his freedom as his bail would be withdrawn.
At this point, Mr. Christopher Koker apologised profusely for his mistakes which he said would never repeat itself anymore.
